In line with global sustainability efforts, Onyx pays close attention to ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) issues and references the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to identify material topics. Through the Sustainability Development Task Force, Onyx assesses potential risks and opportunities related to its core business and promotes corresponding action plans. Progress and outcomes are reported to the Sustainability Development Committee and the Board of Directors to ensure effective ESG risk management and enhance social impact.

In terms of integrity and governance, Onyx actively strengthens corporate governance and board operations. The company has established a Code of Integrity Management to uphold ethical business practices, ensure transparency and rationality in information disclosure, and maintain a fair balance among all stakeholders.

The company collaborates with external partners, including the AAEON Educational Foundation and neighboring enterprises, to support rural education, cultural care, and assistance for underprivileged groups.
One notable initiative, the “Technology Playground Project,” launched in 2018, has been ongoing for six consecutive years. Through mobile exhibitions, modular digital teaching materials, DIY science workshops, and three-day educational field trips, Onyx provides rural students with exposure to technology and environmental industries. This not only broadens their horizons but also instills environmental awareness—helping the next generation embrace sustainability through education and experience.

According to Taiwan’s National Development Council, by 2065, over 40% of Taiwan’s population will be elderly, meaning that every 1.2 working-age persons will need to support one senior citizen. In response to this demographic challenge, digitalization, smart healthcare, and telemedicine are expected to dominate the future of the medical industry, with AI and IoT technologies playing indispensable roles.
To accelerate AI talent cultivation and support sustainable development—particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education)—Onyx established the Joint Research Center for Medical Artificial Intelligence with the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in 2022. This collaboration combines academic expertise and industrial experience to provide integrated AI modeling, simulation, software/hardware design, and manufacturing services for global healthcare clients, contributing to the successful development of medical AI products and the advancement of the healthcare industry.

Thanks to the dedication of all employees, Onyx Healthcare achieved strong financial performance despite global inflation and monetary tightening. In 2023, Onyx reached NT$1.49 billion in revenue and was honored with the Corporate Innovation Award at the 20th National Innovation Awards for its groundbreaking technology.
